A new year has started...

Een nieuw jaar is begonnen en ik realiseer me net dat ik nog niets hier gepost heb in het nieuwe jaar..
En dus ook geen : Beste Wensen voor 2017 ! Bij deze dan nog. Dat het maar weer een kleurig  kunstig jaar mag worden !
A New Year has started and I realized I had not posted anything yet in the new year...
And I also did not post any Best Wishes for 2017 ! yet. So I'm using this opportunity to do so . And I hope it will be happy, colorful and artful year for all of you !

On my working table ....

Ben op dit moment bezig met weer een nieuwe A4 collage. Dit is altijd zo'n leuk onderdeel; in mijn stapel boeken & tijdschriften rommelen op zoek naar leuke gekke plaatjes...
At this moment I'm working on a new A4 collage; I just lóve this part of collage making: rummaging through my stash of magazines & books to find fun images...

En iedere keer weer wordt ik verrast door het toeval; dat je zomaar opeens precies het juiste plaatje tegenkomt...dat zo precies past...
And again and again I'm pleasantly surprised by serendipitous finds of exáctly the right image, that fits so well...

Isn't that amazing?

Ben ook nog druk aan het tekenen. Deze is inmiddels klaar:

Mandala's mandala's...

 

Hi there !!

Loooooong time no see!
Summer is ending, winter is coming...and with that, lots and lots of cold and rainy afternoons (yuk !) to make art ( yesss!!)
I haven't been posting on my blog for a while; I have the feeling that somehow Facebook is taking over blogging a bit....at least for me that surely is the case.
But I will really try to go for more regular blogging from now on !

So let's do a little update here of what I've been doing in Artland lately:

I've 'returned' to working with my Inktense pencils once more. Too long since I've used those ! And I do really like to doodle & play with color ! So I've been making these mandala's :

 

And some have a little bit of collage:

Sooo, that's a whole lot of mandala's : I hope you like them !

p.s. After coming Wednesday prints of my mandala's will be available in my Etsy store ! I'm sooo happy, I finallly found a printshop that cán actually print these bold Inktense colors !
You can't even see which one is the original and which one is printed. Totally happy with that :)

Mini mandala's in black and white...

In mijn laatste post beloofde ik jullie foto's van mijn zwart-wit doedels, dus ..hier zijn ze:
In my last post I promised to show you my black and white doodles, so..here they are:

Hoezeer ik ook hou van werken in (heel veel) kleur, toch ben ik ook gek op het werken in zwart-wit. Deze heb ik gemaakt met een 'gewone' vulpen. Kleine verhaaltjes in een soort mini mandala vorm. Ik begin gewoon met een soort ronde vorm en een paar lijnen en dan komt het plaatje' vanzelf...

As much as I love to work with (lots of) color, I'm also very much attracted to working in black and white. These I made with a normal fountain pen. Little stories in a sort of mandala form. I just start these with making a sort of rounded form and some lines, and then the 'story' unfolds like that...

The elephant and the spider

Hi all!

Nog een zwart-witte doodle af, getiteld 'the elephant and the spider'. Zelfde werkwijze als de doodle van gisteren:
Finished another black and white doodle, titled 'the elephant and the spider'. Same procedure as yesterday's doodle:

1)wat je nodig hebt is een stukje tekenpapier (ik gebruik 240gr Fabriano, maat tekening 15x20 cm) , een fineliner, indische inkt & een fijne penseel /
What you need is a piece of drawing paper ( I used 240gr Fabriano , size of my drawing 15x20 cm), a fineliner, black ink and a small brush

2) Maak met de fineliner een doodle in 1 keer, zonder je pen van het papier te halen, waarbij je eindigt op je beginpunt; probeer te variëren in soort doodles/
Draw a oneline doodle with your fineliner, wihout lifting your pen from the paper, ending at the same place where you began:

3) Gebruik je penseel om de randen en sommige delen binnenin te kleuren met zwarte inkt/
Use your brush to color in the borders and some pieces in the middle with black ink

4)Vul dan je doodle in met zentangles/ doodles, gebruik makend van je fineliner en hier en daar meer inkt; misschien komt er hier of daar een gek beestje 'tevoorschijn' (zoals ik in mijn tekening echt niet om de olifant heenkon aan de onderkant..)
Then fill in the doodle to your liking , using fineliner and perhaps some more ink, with zentangles & doodles. Maybe here and there funny creatures start to emerge (like in mine, I just couldn't ignore the elephant at the bottom..)

Doodle games

Hello there!

Had ooit een leuke video tutorial gezien, van Diana Trout, over het maken van doodles. Was het eigenlijk vergeten,tot ik het vandaag weer 'n keer tegenkwam. Wat me inspireerde tot het maken van deze doodle :)

I saw this video once, made by Diana Trout, in which she gives a tutorial about making doodles. I had forgotten about it, and suddenly ran into it again today. It inspired me to making this doodle:)

Here are some 'the making of' pictures, of my doodle:

Starting with one continuous line (no ccrossing lines anywhere) and then filling the borders with black ink

and then the rest :)

Fun to be working in just black and white once more.

Cat ACEO's

Hallo!

Gisteren had ik weer 'ns zin om wat mini art te maken, dus ben ik begonnen met een serie 'kleurige katten'ACEO's :

Heb ze geplaatst in mijn Etsy shop en ze zijn tot mijn verbazing direct verkocht! Ben blij!
Dus ze zijn nu al op weg naar hun nieuwe huis :)

Yesterday I wanted to do some small artwork again, so I started a 'colorful cats' ACEO series.
Posted them in my Etsy shop and to my surprise they were sold immediately! I'm happy!
So they're already travelling to their new home!
