A new year has started...

Een nieuw jaar is begonnen en ik realiseer me net dat ik nog niets hier gepost heb in het nieuwe jaar..
En dus ook geen : Beste Wensen voor 2017 ! Bij deze dan nog. Dat het maar weer een kleurig  kunstig jaar mag worden !
A New Year has started and I realized I had not posted anything yet in the new year...
And I also did not post any Best Wishes for 2017 ! yet. So I'm using this opportunity to do so . And I hope it will be happy, colorful and artful year for all of you !

New doodle journal

Hi there !!

Ben onlangs begonnen met een nieuw art journal, dat ik helemaal ga gebruiken voor het maken van doodles, en dan het liefst met kleurpotlood. Ik denk dat kleurpotloden toch altijd éen van mijn meest favoriete materialen blijven ! Hierboven zie je de laatste pagina die ik heb gemaakt.

Recently I've started a new art journal, that I'm going to dedicate to colored pencil doodles.
I guess colored pencils will always be one of my most favourite materials to work with ! Above you see my latest page.

Mandala's mandala's...

 

Hi there !!

Loooooong time no see!
Summer is ending, winter is coming...and with that, lots and lots of cold and rainy afternoons (yuk !) to make art ( yesss!!)
I haven't been posting on my blog for a while; I have the feeling that somehow Facebook is taking over blogging a bit....at least for me that surely is the case.
But I will really try to go for more regular blogging from now on !

So let's do a little update here of what I've been doing in Artland lately:

I've 'returned' to working with my Inktense pencils once more. Too long since I've used those ! And I do really like to doodle & play with color ! So I've been making these mandala's :

 

And some have a little bit of collage:

Sooo, that's a whole lot of mandala's : I hope you like them !

p.s. After coming Wednesday prints of my mandala's will be available in my Etsy store ! I'm sooo happy, I finallly found a printshop that cán actually print these bold Inktense colors !
You can't even see which one is the original and which one is printed. Totally happy with that :)

Hello there!

Jakkes, ben de laatste dagen alleen maar bezig geweest met belastingen....heb er toch zo'n hekel aan! Maar goed, het moet nou eenmaal gedaan worden. Maar vandaar dat ik ook eventjes niet geblogd heb.
Ugh, have been doing my taxes these last few days...I do hate it ! But anyway, it has to be done. And that's also why I haven't been blogging for a few days.

Maar gelukkig is het klaar en hierboven dus mijn nieuwste journal page !
But fortunately it's done now so above you see a pic of my latest journal page !

Doodling along...

Hi there!

Nog meer doodles, het houdt niet op! Deze doodle heb ik gemaakt op twee pagina's uit een Shakespeare play. En als vanzelf kwamen al deze gekke wezentjes op het toneel...
More doodles, it just won't stop! This one I made on two pages from a Shakespeare play. Just like that these funny creatures appeared on stage...

Supplies used:

Ik hou van doodling, je weet tevoren nooit wat er uit je pen komt rollen !
Doodling is always such fun, you never know how it turns out, what will come flowing out of your pen..

Dreams

Oke, nóg een art journal page voor vandaag, ik ben in een art journaling bui !
Okay, one more journal page for today, I'm on an artjournaling roll here !

En ik zei 't toch....van deze ben ik dus vergeten om step-by-step foto's te maken!
And I told you so....I forgot to take step-by-step pics of this one!

Nou ja, mijn werkwijze was ongeveer hetzelfde als bij mijn vorige page (zie vorige blogpost); ben begonnen met gescheurde magazine pagina's en daarop heb ik gewerkt met verf, pennen en stempels.
Well, the way I made this one is more or less the same as my previous page (see my other today's post) ; started out with some torn magazine pages and worked on that with paint, pens & stamps.

Well, bye for now, off to do household chores like groceries, cooking & dog walking :)

Keep on swimming....

Hello!

Daar ben ik alweer, met een nieuwe journal page. Heb geprobeerd van alle stappen foto's te maken. Het probleem is, dat ik dat vaak tussendoor vergeet als ik eenmaal bezig ben..Ik denk soms pas weer aan 't fototoestel als ik al klaar ben...
Hi, I'm back already, with a new journal page. i tried to make pics of all the steps. The problem is, I keep forgetting to do that, once I'm busy..Usually I only start thinking about my camera once I'm all done with the page...

Hier is mijn page, een heeeele grote vis:
So, this is it, a biiiiig fish:

En dit zijn de stapjes, tenminste, voor zover ik ze heb haha...
And here are the steps (as far as I have them haha..):

Heb eerst 'at random' een paar pagina's uit een oude magazine gescheurd.
First I just tore some pages out of an old magazine, at random.

Vervolgens heb ik met een credit card roze en oranje verf eroverheen gesmeerd.

Heb gekeken of ik er 'iets' in zag. Eerst vond ik een persoontje en een grote paddestoel, toen zag ik de grote vis. En daar ging ik voor.
Just looked if something 'appeared' on the page. First I saw a person and a large mushroom (no I didn't take anything haha..) , but then the big fish appeared. So I decided to go for that.

Dus ik schilderde de vis, et acrylinkt. En ik was helemaal niet tevreden, ik vond 'm lelijk!
So I painted it. And was nót satisfied at all!!! Yikes, what an ugly fish..

Toch maar verder, blauwe verf eromheen, wat stempels en toen de vis verder ingekleurd met kleurpotlood
Onwards anyway, blue paint all around, some stamps and coloring the fish with colored pencils

Als laatstse details toegevoegd met wit en natuurlijk een leuke tekst. Hmmmm, toch wel leuk geworden!
Then ending up with adding some details in white, and text of course. Hmmm, turned out kinda nice after all!

Hope you like my fish, it's colorful that's for sure!

BE HAPPY!!!

Hi all!!

Jeetje! Da's een hele tijd geleden sinds ik iets gepost heb...sorry daarvoor! Maar ja, zo is het nu eenmaal; soms heb je gewoon niet zoveel tijd (over) om te spelen met kleur, verf e.d.
In iecer geval heb ik afgelopen weekend me weer lekker uitgeleefd en deze tekening gemaakt:

Pffeeww! That's quite a long time since my last post...sorry for that! But then again...it happens; sometimes you just don't have so much time (left) to make art... Anyway, last weekend I had the time to 'dive' into my colors again and I made this drawing:

En op Facebook had ik beloofd dat ik wat work-in-progress foto's zou plaatsen, dus hier zijn ze:
And on Facebook I promised to post some W.I.P. pictures, so here they are:

Ben begonnen met het neerschrijven van een paar woorden (leuke techniek waarmee je het 'enge' lege witte vel omzeilt haha)
I started with writing down some words (wwhich is a nice technique to take away the 'fear of the empty blank page' haha) :

Then I just started to doodle:

Next step: coloring the 'basics' with my Inktense pencils:

Then I just add more color, work in more details and such...:

And finished! I'm quite happy with it, hope it makes you all smile!
