"BE POSITIVE" ART JOURNAL

Hi there!

Een hele tijd geleden ben ik ooit begonnen met mijn "Be Positive" art journal. Een journal waarin ik pages maakte met/ rondom woorden die ik haalde uit mijn dagelijkse krant. Het nieuws in de krant is doorgaans niet zo positief, dus vandaar het idee om er dan toch elke dag iets 'positiefs' uit te halen. Gewoon...een vrolijke gedachte, een 'gevonden' gedichtje, of wat ook maar...
Nu heb ik dit journal een beetje verwaarloosd (gebeurt soms..., maar gisteren vond ik het weer en heb het nieuw leven ingeblazen.

Ik heb destijds een groep "Be Positive Art Journal" aangemaakt op Flickr en die bestaat nog steeds.
Dus als je mee wilt doen met dit project, ben je van harte welkom je journal pages te posten in die groep !!!
De enige 'regel' is: gebruik woorden/ zinnen uit je dagelijkse krant (uit 1 krant)
Lijkt me leuk als er veel mensen mee doen, dan creëren we een positive vibe met z'n allen!!

Flickr Group Be Positive Art Journal

Long time ago I started with my "Be Positive" art journal. In which I made journal pages with/ around words cut out from my daily newspaper. The daily news over all, is not so very positive, so the idea was born to get something 'positive' out of it every day, thru this journal. Just a fun thought, a 'found poem' ....
I have bee neglecting this journal for a while (it happens sometimes...) but I came across it yesterday and decided to put new life into it!

When I started last time I made this group on Flickr "Be Positive Art Journal" and it still exists.
So if you'f like to play along with this project, you're very welcome to post your pages in that group !!
The only 'rule': use words/ sentences form your (1) daily newspaper.
I do hope lots of people will join, we'll create a positive vibe together!

Weer aan de slag! At work again!

Hi there,

Het werk aan de keuken ligt heel even stil; het wachten is nu op het nieuwe werkblad...Als dat eenmaal geplaatst is, kan de aannemer weer verder met tegelen en installeren..
Intussen ben ik wel weer lekker aan de slag met verf, potlood, collage etc. etc.

Hier alvast één van mijn ingekleurde mandala's:

The work on the new kitchen has stopped for a while; we're waiting for the new sink to arrive..Once that is placed, they can continue installing the kitchen, placing the tiles etc...
In the meantime I've started again making lots of artsy stuff.
Above is one of my colored mandala's.

Dansen in de zon / dancing in the sun...

Hi there, Zo, ben ik 'n beetje mijn blog aan 't 'verwaarlozen' zeg!! Veel te veel te doen en veel te weinig tijd! Maar daar hebben we allemaal last van denk ik...Nou ja beter zo dan niks te doen en tijd over (kan me niet voorstellen trouwens, dat je niks te doen weet, haha!) In ieder geval weer 'ns een Be Positive journal page gemaakt vandaag. Zo blij dat de zon eindelijk schijnt!!

Well, I háve been 'neglecting' my blog a bit, haven't I!! Too much to do and far too little time! But I guess that's a problem we all know about.. . Anyway, better like this than the other way round: nothing to do and time left over (can't imagine that btw, not knowing anything to do, haha) In any case.. I made a new Be Positive journal page today. So happy the sun is finally shining again!! En... we hebben onze zomervakantie geregeld: heerlijk 3 weken in de italiaanse zon!! Toch ook wel weer errug leuk na al die jaren richting Oostblok (Hongarije en Roemenië, prachtig trouwens!!) And.. we booked our summer holidays: a lovely 3 weeks in the italian sunshine! Nice to go back there after spending our last summers in Hungary & Roumania (also very beautiful!!) And what are your plans for the summer??? Be happy all!

Hi,

Druk druk met opruimen...hele kelder al gedaan, zolder voor een groot deel (ziet er in ieder geval 'voor het oog' weer netjes uit). Volgend project: de kledingkasten uitmesten, vooral die van de meiden (we gaan zeker weer 'staan' op Koninginnedag, er is zoveel wat weg kan)
Busy busy with my cleaning up projects...cleaned up the whole cellar, and the attic for the biggest part. Next project: cleaning out the wardrobes, especially those of the girls!

Inbetween: new Be Positive Page :

Nieuwe dingen/ new things...

Ben druk bezig geweest de afgelopen dagen...Vandaag nog een nieuwe Be Positive page gemaakt:
Have been quite busy the last few days... Today I made another Be Positive page (meaning: 'there is always room for positive thinking')

Van al die kleurtjes krijg je vanzelf een positief gevoel, toch?
All these colors automatically give you a positive feeling,. don't they?

Furthermore I made some small 10x10 canvasses, all with collage & paint & tissue paper:

Zo, na lange tijd eindelijk weer 'ns een nieuwe Be Positive page gemaakt!
Well, after a long time I finally finished a new Be Positive page!

Lekker kleurig en super positief natuurlijk!
Full of color and very positive of course!

Dit geeft eigenlijk heel goed weer hoe ik me zelf voel sinds ik (wat?.. 2 jaar geleden..?) tekenen en schilderen 'ontdekte'. Ik geniet er met de dag meer van en ben nog steeds bezig met het ontdekken van nieuwe mixed media technieken/ materialen..
Actually this page really reflects my own feelings since I (what?.. 2 years ago..?) 'discovered' drawing and painting. I enjoy doing it every day and am still busy discovering new mixed media techniques/ materials...

Making art just makes you feel happy!!!

Oeps, vanwege de vakantie en het ziekzijn daarna, is er toch even de 'klad' gekomen in het werken in mijn Be positive journal.
Tijd om weer te beginnen. Zal proberen straks nog een nieuwe page te maken/ posten.
Ben inmiddels al wel een heel eind gekomen:

En ja hoor... tóch nog door de griep geveld! Dus de laatste paar dagen heb ik in bed/ op de bank doorgebracht..! Dacht even dat ik de dans ontsprongen was.
Loop dus een beetje achter met mijn journal, maar goed, hier alvast de spreads van 10 en 11 februari.
