Follow your heart...
Hi there!
I'm very satisfied with how this page turned out (whereas in the beginning I thought I had combined the wrong colors...) And the text on this page is right from the heart! Cause I myself waited far too long with my artmaking (why?? because I didn't feel good enough, did not give myself the time for it ...all the usual I guess)
Oh, and I made another mini mandala yesterday.
Hope you like, bye bye

Painted papers
Hi all!
Today autunm really has begun , so many showers! But I did manage to go on a nice long (and dry!) walk in the woods with my doggie :)
And the rest of the day I got my hands dirty, all covered in paint haha; painted lots of new papers for my collage work.
Not really satisfied with it though ( I dó like the left page)
But then, I started with a messy page, filled with leftover paint...
Oh , and I háve to show you this photo of my little doggiedog (all happy with his new toy)
Ain't he cute?
Bye for today, be happy all!

Different..
Two more journal pages that I wanted to show you. They look a bit different from what I normally make I guess..
This one was sort of inspired by the lovely pages of Dina Wakley (I just purchased her wonderful book "Art Journal Freedom", love it!):
And this one I just made because I came across this fun quote (don't know who it is from...):
Well, hope you like these :)
This has been a fruitful 'art day', but now I think I'm in for an early night (yawn ..)
So, goodnight and have sweet & colorful dreams all!

Lots of doodles!
Hi all!
Hoe vinden jullie mijn charmante 'assistente' Saartje?
So how do you like my sweet 'asistant' Saartje?
She 'helped'me to make my new journal page:
Lots of doodles again!
I also made two collages on paper; soon they'll be for sale as art print, in my Etsy store!
Hope you like!
I'm in a doodling mood, so I'll probably make some more this week.
Bye for now,
Madeleine

Bits & pieces
Hi there!
Are you also fond of handpainted papers? I myself love to work with tissuepaper or phonebook pages. Dictionnaries are also nice to work with. You see, the texture of those papers is so very suitable for making collages. I use them in my paintings but also a lot in my art journals. Even the smallest leftover bits & pieces are usable (see my pile on above picture :) )
Below are my latest journal pages, made with bits & pieces of paper and then doodles on top.
And 'before' pictures:
So: never throw away these little leftover paper bits, they'll always come in handy!
Hope you like my pages..
Bye for now, happy journaling & artmaking to you!

New collage painting
Hi!
Another post today: you see, I just finished this litlle mixed media painting:
And below some photographs of how it was made...
Started with a 20x20 cm canvas, and some collage materials
Collaging with handapinted papers. I just love this color combination of warm yellow, pink & turqoise..
Still, I add some more yellow to make the background less 'busy':
Adding lots of layers with paint, collaged (tissue-)papers...
And finished it off with stamps, text, and dots of color & some more collage:
Hope you like!

Mini mandala's in black and white...
Hi there!
In my last post I promised to show you my black and white doodles, so..here they are:
As much as I love to work with (lots of) color, I'm also very much attracted to working in black and white. These I made with a normal fountain pen. Little stories in a sort of mandala form. I just start these with making a sort of rounded form and some lines, and then the 'story' unfolds like that...
Hope you like them!
Be happy and have a nice Sunday,
Madeleine
p.s. within a few days these mandala's will be available as downloadable art in my Etsy shop! I will let you know.

Updating.....
Hi you all!!!
Hope everyone is still enjoying these last beautiful days of summer!! Although school/ work etc etc has begun again, there's still enough time inbetween (luckily) to enjoy the sunshine & being outside...
I've been really busy catering for customers, setting up new workshops, preparing a new workspace at my house where workshops can be given, attending a market and, most of all...making art!
Some of the things I've made lately:
Journal pages:
And a mandala on a round canvas (really fun to make):
I've also been making lots of doodle drawings, but as they are so very different from the above mixed media things, I'll talk about them in my next post ( and I promise I won't stay away too long this time !!)
bye for now and be happy,
Madeleine
