Update !!

Just a quick update of what I have been up to lately (artwise that is..) :

Have been making lots of canvasses in a new technique, using collage and tissuepaper:

And made some 'doodle paintings' :

 

And I also made some more painted bottles for my Etsy shop:

Workshop samples

Hi there!!

A.s. weekend, 30 en 31 mei dus, sta ik op de braderie, in de Havenstraat te Hilversum.
Bij mijn kraampje kun je terecht voor informatie over al mijn workshops en ik zal ter plekke demo's geven in art journaling.
Het wordt vast heel gezellig, je bent van harte welkom!
Hier alvast een voorbeeld van één van mijn workshops, het is een mixed media schilderij gemaakt met tissue papier & collage:

Ik deel de kraam met Melanie, van Britannia Afternoon Teas ; met haar geef ik ook workshops, waarbij ik dan zorg voor het creatieve deel en zij een heeerlijke HIgh Tea verzorgt vor de deelnemers.
A.s. zaterdag en zondag kun je bij haar terecht voor informatie over haar High Teas en uiteraard voor lekkere proeverijtjes !

Bits & pieces

Hi there!

Hou je ook zo van handbeschilderd papier? Ik werk zelf heel graag met tissue papier of telefoonboekbladen. Woordenboeken zijn meestal ook fijn om mee te werken. De structuur van die papiersoorten leent zich namelijk heel goed voor collage. Ik gebruik ze in mijn schilderijen maar ook vaak in mijn art journals. Zelfs de kleinste rest-stukjes komen van pas:

Are you also fond of handpainted papers? I myself love to work with tissuepaper or phonebook pages. Dictionnaries are also nice to work with. You see, the texture of those papers is so very suitable for making collages. I use them in my paintings but also a lot in my art journals. Even the smallest leftover bits & pieces are usable (see my pile on above picture :) )

Hieronder mijn laatste journal pages, gemaakt met kleine stukjes papier en vervolgens "overdoedeld".
Below are my latest journal pages, made with bits & pieces of paper and then doodles on top.

And 'before' pictures:

Dus: gooi nooit je kleine reststukjes weg, ze komen altijd van pas !
So: never throw away these little leftover paper bits, they'll always come in handy!

New collage painting

Hi!

Nog een post vandaag: heb namelijk net een nieuw mix media schilderijtje af:

Started with a 20x20 cm canvas, and some collage materials

Collaging with handapinted papers. I just love this color combination of warm yellow, pink & turqoise..

Still, I add some more yellow to make the background less 'busy':

Adding lots of layers with paint, collaged (tissue-)papers...

And finished it off with stamps, text, and dots of color & some more collage:

Oh my.....was it that long???

Hi there!

Is het echt al meer dan een maand geleden dat ik hier was??? Zomervakantie is echt geweldig, maar niet goed voor het bloggen!
Ik zal gauw even een snelle update geven over waar ik mee bezig ben geweest (wat betreft kunstige dingen dan...)
In willekeurige volgorde:

Is it really over a month ago that I was here????? Summer holidays are great, but not good for blogging haha..
Let me just give you a quick update of what I've been up to (artmaking-wise that is..)

Lots of coloring pages pages and other (downloadable!!) art in my Etsy shop:

Little paintings/collages with houses...(also in the shop)

Made lots of small tissue paper collages:

Well, these are just a few of the things I've been busy with.
Furthermore, we had a lovely holiday in Ireland! (of which I'll post some pics the next time)
And, I've got some great news about a new webshop (with art & workshops) I've just opened up!
But I'll dedicate a whole post to that one next time :) :)

Seeds of change

Hi there!

Deze woorden vond ik onlangs in een oud tijdschrift:
Found these words in an old magazine:

Ze spraken me aan en ik heb ze dus gebruikt in een schilderij:
Going thru some changes myself at the moment I wanted to use them in a painting:

Nu ben ik dus op het punt (wat denk ik bij elk schilderij komt haha..): is het af of niet? Ik twijfel, misschien met een dunne fineliner nog wat wilde doodles hier en daar? Spetters erover? Ik zet het even 'in de week', denk ik
Now I've reached that point (as comes for every painting I guess...) of not knowing whether it is finished or not? I'm in doubt, may be adding some thin lined wild doodles? Or splashes of paint? I'll just sleep over it, I guess..

Hello & good morning!

I've painted you all a bunch of flowers to celebrate the day!

Ben druk bezig met het voorbereiden van allerlei workshops. Waaronder eentje met deze bloemenschilderijen.
I'm very busy at the moment preparing different workshops; making these flower paintings will definitely be one of them!

Life's a puzzle....

Hi there!

Vandaag heerlijk geschilderd; heb een hele hoop tissuepapers gebruikt die ik nog had liggen (jeweetwel, waar je je verfrestjes aan afveegt etc.). Eeen 30x30cm mixed media schilderij:

Spent a lovely day painting, using up a lot of painted tissuepapers that I had lying about (you know, the ones you use to wipe your brushes with). A mixed media painting 30x30cm.
