Okay,

Ben zo blij met m'n nieuwe oliepastels, kan niet stoppen met ze te gebruiken ! Dus nog een andere A4 journal page afgemaakt vandaag.Ook natuurlijk nog heel veel andere media toegepast, o.a. acrylverf en collage.
Finished one more A4 journal page. So happy with my new oil pastels, can't stop working with them ! Of course I used lots of other media as well, like acrylics and collage.

Denk dat ik vanavond maar een visje op de barbecue gooi !
I think I'll do a fish barbecue tonight !

Nieuwe pages / new pages...

Zooo, terug van vakantie! We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in de Oostenrijkse sneeuw!
En nu....is het tijd dat de lente komt, vind je ook niet?
Well...we're back from holidays! We spent some lovely time together, in the Austrian snow!

Teaching at Artful Gatherings !!

Hello !

Mag het eindelijk vertellen: ben gevraagd door Zinnia Galliher van Artful Gatherings om daar van de zomer een online workshop te geven !! Zoo blij (en trots ook :). De precieze inhoud moet nog even geheim blijven, maar meer info volgt in Februari !
Yeay , I'm allowed to tell now: I have been asked by the wonderful Zinnia Galliher to teach an online workshop this summer, at Artful Gatherings! I'm soooo happy (and proud too !)
The exact contents have to remain secret for awhile, but more info will follow in February.

So, to 'celebrate' this, a colorful and happy journal page:

Ik heb dit gemaakt met de paint-over techniek; eerst een collage en dan heel veel verf eroverheen..
I made this using the paintover collage technique.

Altijd zo grappig om te zien hoe zo'n collage uiteindelijk verandert..
Always such fun to see into what such a collage turns out in the end..

TAART ! WORKSHOPS !

Hi there!

Kijk eens, ik heb een taart 'gebakken' ! Om te vieren dat ik vanaf nu mixed media workshops in eigen atelier kan gaan geven!
Onze enorme schuur hebben we eindelijk leeggeruimd en aangepast, zodat het nu omgetoverd is tot een geweldige workshopruimte :) :)
Ik ben er heeeel blij mee!
Look, I baked you a cake! To celebrate that I finally have my own 'studio' where I can organise my mixed media workshops!
We have a barn with a looooot of space, and we finally cleaned it up and changed it into this wonderful workspace! I'm sooo happy with it!

Op ZONDAG 9 NOVEMBER A.S. organiseer ik een OPEN DAG. Dan is iedereen van 11.00 tot 16.00 uur van harte welkom om kennis te maken, voorbeelden van workshops te bekijken en natuurlijk informatie te vragen.
Dus als je in de buurt bent: kom gezellig langs!
On SUNDAY 9TH OF NOVEMBER I will be organising an "OPEN DOOR" day. Everyone is most welcome to come visit from 11.00 till 16.00 hours, to say hello, view samples from all workshops and collect information.
So if you're in the neighbourhood, I'd love to see you!

New collage painting

Hi!

Nog een post vandaag: heb namelijk net een nieuw mix media schilderijtje af:
Another post today: you see, I just finished this litlle mixed media painting:

Started with a 20x20 cm canvas, and some collage materials

Collaging with handapinted papers. I just love this color combination of warm yellow, pink & turqoise..

Still, I add some more yellow to make the background less 'busy':

Adding lots of layers with paint, collaged (tissue-)papers...

And finished it off with stamps, text, and dots of color & some more collage:

Heb lekker de hele dag geschilderd. Best groot doek voor mijn doen, 30x30cm. Met heel veel laagjes & structuur.:
Been painting most of the day, yess!! A large canvas, for me, it's 30x30cm. Lots of layers & structure:

Ben deze keer niet vergeten om wat tussendoor foto's te maken van het proces:

I've used one of my handmade stamps with silver ink for the sides.

I'm quite happy with how this one turned out :)

IN HET ROND / GOING ROUND...

Hi allemaal,

Hèhè... opluchting!! Mijn beide meiden zijn over! Nu kunnen we met een gerust hart op vakantie (*zucht van verlichting*)
En dát is al volgende week, yesss! Heb er ongelooflijk veel zin in, helemaal nu de zomer hier in Holland 't een beetje laat afweten..
Waarschijnlijk is dit ook mijn laatste blogpost voordat we weggaan, want ik heb nog een ongelooflijk drukke week voor de boeg; waarschijnlijk komt er niets meer van tekenen/ bloggen e.d.

Heb zulke leuke ronde canvas doekjes gevonden (bij de Xenos); van de week gelijk eentje in gebruik genomen:

Vrolijk toch?

Ooooofff... such a relief! Both my girls have passed their year & made it into the next class! (*sigh*...)Now we can really set off on our holidays with a happy heart! Which is next week already, yessss!!!! I really really feel like going away, especially now since summer in Holland still hasn't started yet (wonder if it will ever come...)This is probably my last blogpost before we go, since I've got tons of things to do the coming week; so not much time left for drawing/ blogging and such...

I found the above round canvasses in a shop in town (aren't they fun?!) ; so I made this painting last week.

Also received some lovely things in the mail (for a swap) from my Facebook friend Sharon:

Ongeduldige prinses (of.. kan de kikker niet wachten..?)

Hi,

This is one impatient princess! Or..is it the frog that can't wait?

Zodra ik het plaatje van de kikker zag, móest ik er wel een prinses bij zoeken. Toen heb ik er deze 'paint-over' collage van gemaakt. Hieronder wat plaatjes van de opbouw.
Ben niet helemaal tevreden met alles, vooral het haar... (het is ook nooit goed, haha!)
As soon as I saw the image of the frog, I hád to find a princess as well...Then I made this 'paint-over' collage. Here are some photos of how it was made.
I'm not totally satisfied with everything, especially her hair.. (haha,inner critic, it's never really right , is it!
