The fun of art making ; a story I told at Pecha Kucha night Hilversum

Hi there !!

Op 19 maart j.l. werd er weer een Pecha Kucha avond gehouden in theater De Vorstin, in Hilversum. Wat is Pecha Kucha? Het volgende:

"PechaKucha is Japans voor ‘geroezemoes’, een wereldwijd fenomeen dat tot nu toe alleen nog in een aantal grote steden in Nederland georganiseerd wordt. Het is een verbazingwekkend platform voor welk creatief persoon dan ook: ontwerpers, architecten, kunstenaars, wetenschappers, dromers, politici, critici, studenten, etc., beroemd of niet, om hun idee te presenteren in een standaard format van 20 plaatjes, die ieder 20 seconden blijven staan.
Het is de plek om je werk, mode, kunst, ontwerp, gemaakte project of welk goed idee dan ook te presenteren dat de geest en creatieve ziel inspireert van zowel degene die de avond organiseren als de bezoekers die het ervaren. Het overstijgt en verbindt daarmee de kleine onzichtbare creatieve netwerken ".

En mijn verhaal op 19 maart ging naturlijk over.....kunst !

On March 19th there was another Pecha Kucha Night at the theater , De Vorstin, in Hilversum. Pecha Kucha is a sort of platform where creatives can tell a story about their art, what inspires them, new ideas, their dreams or whatever you like to share. Goal: to inspire people and to meet others.

On the 19th I also told my story there, about (of course..) making art. (it is in Dutch though ....)

Hello there!

Opeens ben ik weer helemaal aan het 'gluebooken'. Wat een plezier je kunt hebben met alleen maar een schaar, lijmstift en een paar tijdschriften !
All of a sudden I'm all into gluebooking again. Unbelievable how much fun you can have with just a pair of scissors, a gluestick & some magazines !

En gek genoeg zijn er ook zóveel manieren om te werken in een gluebook; je zou denken dat , met 'alleen maar' collage, je niet zoveel kanten op kan. Maar het tegendeel is waar !
Ik hou zelf het meest van de drukke kleurige pagina's , zoals die hier bovenaan.
And oddly enough there are sooo many ways in which you can work in a gluebook; you would think that, with 'just' collage, it would all look a bit the same. But that's not true at all!
Me, I guess I mostly love to make busy, colorful pages, like the one on top .

Het is bijna 1 mei ! Vanaf 1 mei is de inschrijving geopend bij Artful Gathering. Ook dit jaar zijn er weer heel veel leuke workshops te volgen in de zomer, waaronder die van mij !

My secret garden...

Hello there!

Jakkes, ben de laatste dagen alleen maar bezig geweest met belastingen....heb er toch zo'n hekel aan! Maar goed, het moet nou eenmaal gedaan worden. Maar vandaar dat ik ook eventjes niet geblogd heb.
Ugh, have been doing my taxes these last few days...I do hate it ! But anyway, it has to be done. And that's also why I haven't been blogging for a few days.

Maar gelukkig is het klaar en hierboven dus mijn nieuwste journal page !
But fortunately it's done now so above you see a pic of my latest journal page !
