Mandala's

Hi,

Heb wel in de vakantie wat mandala's gemaakt, gewoon met Staedtler pen. Ik moet ze alleen nog inkleuren. Ik hou van 'intuïtieve' mandala's; gewoon beginnen met een stipje (zaadje) in het midden en dan stap-voor-stap je mandala laten 'groeien'...

I did manage to make some mandala's during the holidays, just with Staedtler pen. I only have to color them in. I love 'intuitive' mandala's; where you just start with a dot in the middle and step-by-step you let your mandala 'grow' ....

Als ik ze gekleurd heb zal ik ze laten zien.
I'll post them after I've done the coloring.

Weer thuis / Home again

Hi allemaal!!!

Hoop dat iedereen een fijne en zonnige vakantie heeft gehad! Wij wel in ieder geval! Italië was weer heerlijk, na zoveel jaar niet geweest te zijn. Hongarije en Roemenië waren prachtig, maar italië voelt toch als thuiskomen! We hebben heerlijk veel geluierd & gezwommen, ontzettend veel en lekker gegeten (veel 'kook'inspiratie opgedaan..), voor ons nieuwe steden bezocht, kortom, 't was geweldig!

Hope you have all had a wonderful and sunny holiday! We did! Italy was lovely again and, after a few (beautiful) holidays in Hungary and Roumania, it really felt like coming home again!. We spent lots of time swimming and doing nothing, had lots of woonderful meals (and so much 'cooking' inspiration..), visited new cities, in a word, it was great!!

Nu zijn we alweer bijna 2 weken thuis. Heb nog geen tijd gehad om te bloggen e.d., want mijn keuken ziet er inmiddels zo uit:
We've been home now for nearly 2 weeks. Haven't had time to do any blogging yet, because my kitchen now looks like this:

Dus je begrijpt, het is hier redelijk chaotisch, druk en... stóffig!!! Dat fijne stof gaat werkelijk óveral op zitten, er is geen schoonmaken aan! Nou ja, nog een paar weekjes en we worden beloond met een mooie nieuwe keuken! Kan niet wachten..

So you understand, it's quite busy & chaotic at the moment and... dústy!!! Such fine dust, it atttaches itself to everything, I've given up cleaning at the moment! Anyway, just a few weeks and we'll be rewarded with a lovely new kitchen! Can't wait...

In the meantime, there's no space where I can do any painting, just a few drawings/ zentangles here and there... Also I'm busy working on a new site for my catering, so
my blogging will be only on a small scale the coming weeks!

Vakantie!!! Holiday!!!!

Yesss!!

Eindelijk is het zover, alles (nou ja bíjna alles...) is uitgezocht en ingepakt, alles is geregeld, huis is schoon & opgeruimd, morgen komt de oppas (voor onze beestjes!), dus we kunnen!!!!
Ik wens iedereen een heel goede vakantie en vooral veel zon :):). Tot over 3 weken!

Finally the moment is near, everything ( okay, néarly everything..) is ready and packed, all's arranged, the house is clean and tidy, tomorrow the 'nanny' comes for our pets, so....we can go!!!
I wish you all very nice holidays and especially lots and lots of sunshine :):)

Nog eentje met inkt/ another one with ink..

Hi there,

Gisteravond laat toch nog even zitten tekenen...Weer verder ge-experimenteerd met inkt & ecoline. Deze is al beter, vind ik, maar ik weet toch nog steeds niet precies wat ik hier nou mee moet...
Maar het is wel heel leuk & verrassend om te doen, dat blazen met inkt; je weet nooit wat er tevoorschijn komt!

Late last night I did some more 'experimenting' with (blown) ink. This one already gave a better result, allthough I'm still not quite sure which direction I'm going with this...Still it's very nice to do, this ink-blowing; you never know what pops up on your paper!

Spelen met kleur/ playing with colors..

Zo, de meiden hebben allebei hun schooljaar afgesloten, alleen nog rapporten halen...En volgende week vrijdag.. op naar de zon!!
Moet alleen nog heel wat gebeuren in de komende 2 weken, van werk, afspraken, kat naar dierenarts, administratie tot en met huis opruimen en inpakken...
Lijkt altijd wel of de weken vlak voor je vakantie altijd extra volgepropt zitten met van alles! Nou ja, dan is het des te lekkerder als je dan eindelijk wegrijdt!

Nog wat zentangles gemaakt intussen:

Well, the girls finally finished their schoolyear, they just have to go back to get their reports..And then Friday next week...sunshine here we come!!
I only have to get a lot of things done these coming 2 weeks, like work, cat to vet, administration, cleaning house, appointments & packing of course..Seems like the weeks before your holiday are always packed with lots of things! Oh well, it'll feel even better then, when finally we drive off!

The above tangle was made with a background of inktense pencils.
For this next one I made the 'string' with black ink. I dropped some on the paper & blew it around using a straw. Then I colored some parts with yellow ink, after which I started tangling.
I'm not réally happy with the result yet, but I think the idea's nice. I'll do some more like this.
Voor de volgende tangle heb ik een 'string' gemaakt met zwarte inkt; heb druppels laten vallen op het papier en rondgeblazen met een rietje. Toen stukjes ingekleurd met gele ecoline en verder getangled.
Ben nog niet helemaal tevreden met het resultaat, maar 't idee vind ik wel leuk. Ga er nog wel wat mee experimenteren.

Warme kleuren.../ warm colors...

Hi all,

Heb mezelf een setje nieuwe potloden cadeau gedaan: Derwent inktense water soluble pencils. Als je de kleuren op papier vermengt met water, worden ze heel mooi warm & diep.
Voor deze tangle heb ik eerst het papier gekleurd:

En toen eroverheen getangled:

I bought a present for myself: a set of Derwent inktense pencils. If you mix the colors on paper with water, they become beautifully deep & warm. For this tangle I colored the paper first, then I tangled over it.

The photo is not too sharp..but the quote (from Picasso) reads:
"Every child is an artist; the problem is staying one when you grow up".

Boekenleggers/ bookmarks

Hallo,

Even een snel berichtje...zit momenteel echt in een 'zentangle flow'... heb weer een aantal boekenleggers gemaakt. Ga ze denk ik printen op tekenpapier en vervolgens inkleuren. Dan heb ik een zwart-witte versie en een gekleurde!

Just a short post today.. I think I'm in a real 'zentangle flow' at the moment.. made some ZT bookmarks. Think I will print them on drawing paper & then color them; then I will have a black&white and a colored version!
