Snowflake zendala

Hi all,

Weet je nog, vroeger op school: sneeuwvlokken knippen uit papier? Deze techniek kom je regelmatig tegen voor het maken van een 'stencil' voor zendala's.

Dit was mijn 'sneeuwvlok':

En dit is de zendala nog 'n keer, in zwart-wit:

Do you remember how, at school, you used to make these snowflakes, cut out from paper? This technique is used a lot for making zendala templates.
You trace the template on your drawing paper, add and/or substract a few lines and then you start tangling!

Imagine...

Hi all,

this one I made for a friend's birthday. (size 13x18 cm)

And here are some of the steps:

First draw some lines with a pencil

Then you color with Derwent Inktense

Then let the magic happen! Add some water & make the colors pop!

Next you draw black lines with a black pen ( I use Staedlers)

And then for the biggest fun: you tangle all over the drawing with black & white pen.

I just lóve these Inktense pencils! I'm thinking of buying the blocks as well. Totally hooked on these colors!

Hold fast to dreams....

Eerder al had ik wat van dit soort ATC's gemaakt met mijn inktense potloden:

Nu heb ik me gewaagd aan een iets groter exemplaar , een maatje A4.
Eerst at random wat lijnen gezet, toen ingekleurd met inktense potloden en vervolgens met water uitgewerkt.
Toen kwamen de zwarte lijnen. Daarna heb ik het geheel nog verder bewerkt met zwarte tangles, witte pen & gewoon kleurpotlood.
Dit is het resultaat:

I already some small ATC's (see above) with my inktense pencils; now I wanted to try a bigger size. So I made this A4 one.

I started out with making some 'at random' lines and coloring with my inktense pencils:

Then I worked on them with some water (see the colors pop !):

Next I made the black lines:

After which I went in with my colored pencils, black & white pen for tangling & doodling...

Terug van vakantie/ Back from holiday...

Hi all!!

Zo, we zijn weer terug van een heeeerlijke vakantie! Voor het eerst waren we in Slovenie & Kroatië. Prachtige landen, allebei!
In Slovenië waren we maar 'n paar dagen, waar we lekker actieve dingen hebben gedaan: we zijn gaan raften (super!) én we hebben 'ge-ziplined'!!!! D.w.z. je gaat van de ene berg naar de andere, hangend aan een dun staalkabeltje. Je overbrugt ca. 500 meter, boven een diepte van 230 meter (*slik*). En dat 4 keer, van het ene platform naar het andere. Had nooooit gedacht dat ik zou durven , maar het was absoluut fántastisch!!
Zal van de week war foto's posten, ze staan op de PC van Echtgenoot.

Kroatië was prachtig en 't was natuurlijk heerijk weer. Eindelijk die zon, waar we zo naar smachtten :) :)
Heel veel gezwommen in de turkoois blauwe Adriatische Zee. De laatste week zaten we op het mooie ieland Brac, met overal van die leuke kleine strandjes (mmmmm, eigenlijk wil ik zo weer terug...)

Natuurlijk ook pen & papier meegenomen; heb dus lekker zitten zentanglen op het strand & terras. Ziehier (en boven) de 'oogst' van de vakantie":

I made these 2 ATC's last week.
And I've received another envelope in the mail with lots of paper goodies! It came from my Facebook friend Connie.
