Find the doodle !

Hi there!

Als je wat vaker mijn blog leest, heb je waarschijnlijk wel gemerkt dat ik houd van 'doedelen'. Vind het leuk om zonder vooropgezet plan gewoon te beginnen met tekenen en dan maar zien wat er tevoorschijn komt. En af en toe probeer ik weer 's wat anders uit. Deze techniek had ik al eens eerder gebruikt; eerst heel veel kleurvlakken maken en dan kijken wat voor gekke dingen je daarin ziet...

If you're a regular visitor of my blog, you probably will have noticed that I love to doodle! I really like to draw without sketching or a plan, just start and see what comes out. And every once in a while I like to try something new. This technique here I've used before, making lots of colorful patches and then look for funny doodles...

Voor de kleurtjes heb ik mijn Inktense krijtjes gebruikt; van zulke felle kleurtjes word ik supervrolijk!
For the coloring I used my Inktense crayons. Such bright colors, they make me feel really happy!

ATC (art card)

Hello,

Een klein berichtje nog...toen ik de 'postzegel' ATC's maakte van de week, realiseerde ik me hoe lang ik al niet dit soort leuke art cards had gemaat. Hoog tijd om deze gewoonte weer op te pikken!
En bovendien had ik ook al heel lang niet meer mijn (toch favoriete) Inktense potloden gebruikt. Dus bij deze !
Just a small post..
Making the "poststamp' ATC's a few days ago , it made me realize how long it's been since I've been making these kind of cute little art cards. High time to pick up the habit!
And another thing that I haven't been using lately are my Inktense pencils. And I lóve those !

More ATC's will certainly follow soon!

Holiday journal pages

Hi there!

Ben helemaal vergeten deze journal pages te posten. Had ze in de vakantie gemaakt. Dus hierbij alsnog.
Ik had niets anders bij me dan wat stiften, een lijmstift en een magazine, maar toch...om te laten zien dat je ook met weinig kunt journallen..!
I totally forgot to post these journal pages I made during my holidays. So here they are.
I didn't have anything with me but some markers, a gluestick and a magazine, but..just to show you don't need much to journal anyway!

Allemaal een beetje anders dan wat ik normaal maak, maar ja... moest gebruiken wat ik op dat moment bij me had..
So they're all a bit different from what I usually do, but I had to make do with what materials I had...

Hundertwasser stamps for inspiration ; an ATC tutorial

Ik ben gek op de kunst van Hundertwasser; zo kleurig en vrolijk ! De inspiratie voor deze mini tutorial komt daarvandaan. Hndertwasser heeft ook een aantal prachtige postzegels ontworpen. Ook dat vond ik een leuk idee om hier te gebruiken .
I love the art of Hundertwasser; so colorful and happy! That's where the inspiration for this mini tutorial comes from. Hundertwasser also designed lots of wonderful poststamps.
So I thought that also could be a nice idea to use here.

Ik heb deze 'postzegels' gemaakt op ATC formaat (2.5 x 3.5 inch) , maar je kunt natuurlijk ook een grotere tekening maken, briefkaart-maat of zelfs A4...
I made these 'stamps' on ATC format (2.5 x 3.5 inch) , but of course you could make a bigger drawing, postcard size or even A4..

Below are the steps & photo's :
-first you make a "perforation line", as a border, using a black marker or fineliner;
-then draw a frame , making a thin line all around;
-next, you doodle a nice drawing

 
 

Natuurlijk kun je tekenen wat je wilt. Maar als je meer Hundertwasser inspiratie zoekt, kun je eens kijken op deze site:

Aan je 'postzegel' kun je leuke details toevoegen als: 'bedrag' , jaartal, een 'verzonnen' gelegenheid, en een fantasie land waar de zegel vandaan komt...
You can add some nice details to your stamp, like : a fake amount, a year, a made-up special occassion, and a fake country where the stamp is coming from...

Next steps:
-color you stamp ; I like to use Inktense pencils;
-because the colors are so beautifully bright once you wet them;
-then you add small details with black & white pens

Color inspiration !

Hi there!

 Zoals jullie waarschijnlijk allang hebben gemerkt, ben ik gek op vrolijke felle kleurtjes. Gebruik ze altijd in mijn kunst & art journaling. Elke week verwen ik mezelf (en mijn gezin natuurlijk !) met een supervrolijk boeket !
As you probably know already, I'm really really fond of bright and happy colors. Use them all the time in my art. So every week I treat myself (and my family of course) to a colorful bouquet !

Wilde jullie even laten weten dat ik mijn eigen MakeArtBeHAppy videokanaal heb geopend , op YouTube, waar ik vanaf nu allerlei leuke art video's en tutorials zal posten.
Just wanted to let you know that I 've opened up my own MakeArtBeHappy YouTube channel where I will be sharing lots of art making video's and tutorials from now on!

Of course I've júst started, so for now there aren't a lot of video's yét, but I will make more soon!

Nieuwe journal pages/ new spreads in my journal

Hi there!

Was een beetje aan het experimenteren in mijn art journal. Nou ja..daar is het toch ook de goeie plek voor hè, lekker nieuwe dingen uitproberen..
Meestal maak ik een combi van collage, acrylverf , met stempels, stencils e.d.
Nu heb ik een ondergrond gemaakt met mijn gelatos (had ik gekregen van de Sint en eigenlijk nog nauwelijks gebruikt) en daarna een collage erop gemaakt.

Have been experimenting a bit in my art journal. Oh well, that's really the spot for it isn't it, trying out new things...
I usually do a combo of acrylic paint and collage, with some stamping and stencilling.
Now I made a background using my gelatos (I got them as a present, I had not really got round to using them ) and then I collaged over it

So..I hope you like my pages!
I will certainly be using my gelatos a lot more from now on! They work great in color mixing :)
